What we say:
  • News: Facebook to Begin Cutting Back on Promotional Posts from Pages in News Feed | via @allfacebook http://buff.ly/1zrLy4m Sean: "Facebook is technically free for Brands...that being said like any advertising platform there is a 'Pay to Play' component...so it is not a stretch that Facebook is going more towards the 'Pay to Play' model, where you want to sell something you have to pay.""...in a way they are saying 'stop to directly selling' on Facebook, but if you are continually trying to ...no one wants to see that on Facebook"
Greg: "if you are a person that likes everything then the new algorithm will have an impact on you"

  • News: Facebook invites you to 'Say Thanks' | via @JLaffertyIF http://bit.ly/1zrMiGC Sean: "It is a nice to drive engagement and Facebook gets it..it is nice to give a complement" Greg:" Some of the comments - "nice way to strengthen engagement"
  • News: Pinterest Doubles Its Male User Base | via @SocialTimes http://bit.ly/1xsopA Sean: "I guess there has to be a balance...adjusting it can help...at the end of the day...that does it matters if it is men or women" Greg:"Pinterest really markets itself as a e-commerce site...stats I see, a lot women shop online...is Pinterest surprised by this?"

  • News: LinkedIn - We Tried The LinkedIn Feature People Say Ruined Their Job Search | via @businessinsider http://read.bi/1EPK4Uz  "Greg: Any feature has to be used with some care and construction around it...you have to be careful on the context being used with features(like this)" "Sean: Sounds like victimization to me...cries victim...it is software, by god, if you are expecting it to be perfect"

  • What is a Fan - Discussion[Video from SF MusicTech Summit] Sean: "I can think about that are my fans or fans of the brand...some engage...or like...is a fan a stalker? The ideal fan or ambassador...will do engagement, comment or promote - recruitment ...should be our goal" Greg: "At Nerd Stalker we cover a lot of Kickstarter projects...they are surprised why the initial promotion fizzles out...you need more constant promotion(to build a fan base)"
