Roblox Makes Young Developer's Imaginations and Dreams Come True

Image
At this year's Game Developer's Conference, the noticeable uncertainty was the future of console vs. mobile vs. cloud gaming and which one will eventually win out. Forward to the 2015 Maker Faire, we caught up with Roblox , the biggest player in the cloud/online MMO gaming arena. Our, Greg Viloria (aka Social Greg), interviews Rick Silvestrini of Roblox on the current status of the game platform. Notably, what makes them a big player amongst young game developers and leader in the online gaming arena is the 5M active users and an active developers platform sporting $2M in payouts to date. BLURB - Nerd Stalker #45

I had the pleasure to interview Samantha Howe of Blurb in a very dark back room at a recent SF New Tech event. Blurb is a company and a community that believes passionately in the joy of books – reading them, making them, sharing them, and selling them. The work they produce is quite stunning, you actually get a professional final product and the best part is that anyone can produce one or many more. They have a key partnership with flickr, support pdf uploads, and have a wide array of book layouts to choose from or customize yourself.

Jam Legend - Nerd Stalker #8

Jam Legend seems like a web application that has massive potential, gaming + music + social+ internet = lots of $'s in my opinion. I can't remember the last time I've been this impressed with a web application, seriously. Nerd Stalker tracks down CEO Andrew Lee and Co-founder Arjun Lall. The give us their take on where the company is now and where it's going, very exciting stuff. BONUS, Jam Legend private beta invites available for Nerd Stalker viewers here .

Blip.fm - Nerd Stalker #7

Recently wherever I go in the tech community, I keep hearing about Blip.fm, and how everyone seems to love the service. I knew we had to stalk Blip immediately, I contacted CEO Jeff Yasuda who graciously agreed to a sit down. Jeff turned out to be a very cool down to earth guy who has all the right qualities to take his company to success.
