Image
Barry Cousins of Info-Tech Research Group Looks At Fact Checking and AI By Barry Cousins As an analyst, I’d like to have a universal fact checker. I don’t want to be misunderstood: I’m not suggesting that all news and education is phony baloney. And I’m not suggesting that the people speaking untruths are always doing so intentionally. Robert Atkinson of Think Tank ITIF Talks about Current Myths of Artificial Intelligence © Agsandrew | Dreamstime.com -  Emergence of Artificial Intelligence If you are a believer in a1st and 4th of   Kranzberg’s Laws  of Technology where " Technology is neither good nor bad; nor is it neutral." and " Although technology might be a prime element in many public issues, nontechnical factors take precedence in technology-policy decisions." These laws could apply how one could look at  Artificial Intelligence or AI.   In the news recently, from Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk citing the grave fears of AI development, we look at the opposite side of the coin, that slowing down technological development of Artificial Intelligence could hurt our society in the benefits that it can bring us. With the breadth of choices, convenience and ease of fulfillment, fashion e-commerce continues to grow with Amazon.com taking the lead(~ $16B in 2015(est. $52B in 2020), 5% of total apparel sales ). But, even with the Amazon.com search, it can take a long time to zero in on your tastes. That is where New York based fynd.me comes in. The service learns your preferences and becomes your personal "concierge." Their current business model only works with department stores which is quite great. The quality of the photos that mature department stores offer and a solid fulfillment backbone isn't a bad starting point. In the future, I can see a Pepper robot embedded with Fynd.me algorithm to be an in-store salesperson someday.  Last week, we spoke with co-founder Charese Embree of  fynd.me  on what their service ...
