Oh, by the way, he also solved the third hand while feeding your child called Beebo . When I did a pre-interview with Martin Hill and saw how harried he looked, I knew this was going to be a great interview. Eggxer - Scramble eggs inside their shell

Image
It all started when a dad couldn’t persuade his kids to eat egg yolks. They liked the whites of hardboiled eggs but left the yolks behind. The dad knew that 99% of an egg’s nutrients reside in the yolk. So he found a fun way to scramble the egg inside the shell, creating golden-colored hardboiled eggs with the yolk and white blended. MixedEggsTM have a taste and consistency kids and adults alike love. The dad, inventor Assaf Gurner, is now raising funds on Indiegogo to bring Eggxer® “Eggxer is the world’s first appliance for scrambling any egg inside its shell to create a single texture and color from the white and the yolk – a MixedEgg,” says Isaac Eldar, CEO of Egglogix Ltd, the startup where Gurner serves as president. “Eggxer is compact, easy to use and it will change the way people eat eggs. It opens up a world of culinary possibilities.” A true “superfood,” especially for children, eggs contain B-complex vitamin choline, a nutrient that is essential for brain development ...

Robot Turtles - Board Game Teaches Kids To Think Code

Image
Nerd Stalker interview with Dan Shapiro inventor of Robot Turtles . Robot Turtles is a board game you play with your favorite 3-8 year old kids. It sneakily teaches the fundamentals of programming. Robot Turtles launched on Kickstarter, where it became the bestselling board game of all time. Which is pretty darn amazing. The Kickstarter campaign is over. 1,500 copies went up on the Make Magazine store and they sold out in 8 hours. Now there are a few copies at http://buy.robotturtles.com . For you Robot Turtle aficionados make sure to get the e-book here  and use the code " kickstarter " to get $5 off the ebook . We must admit that we secretly bought Robot Turtles under a private name so as to experience the whole fulfillment process like a general consumer would. We received it prior to the holidays despite the hot demand for the game. I sprung Robot Turtles on my six year old daughter who was thrilled with the game. In no time she ran through the basics t...

School of Dragons The Dreamworks Game

Image
Adolfo Foronda of Nerd Stalker interviews Michael Domaguing, Director of Product Marketing at Jumpstart . Jumpstart is featuring a 3-D MMO RPG game called " School of Dragons " based on DreamWorks animated movie " How To Train A Dragon ". The game looks like a ton of fun, your kid can actually fly a dragon, multiple dragons really. Your child will recognize all the familiar characters from the movie. Believe it or not the game is free although there are monthly subscription options and in game purchase options. The game runs on the unity platform via any web browser (iOS and Android apps are coming) so no gaming hardware is needed. The game is ever-expanding and given that it is web-based you will see updates as they release them. At first we thought this was strictly entertainment but there is a science educational angle to the site as well. Under their resources section there are science worksheets, experiments, activities and a page on the scie...

Ubooly a Fun, Educational and Interactive Kids iPhone Stuffy

Image
This is a Nerd Stalker review of Ubooly a children's technology toy. The toy is made up of a stuffed animal and iOS application. The stuffed animal comes in multiple colors and the iOS application is free. To use Ubooly you place your iPhone with the application turned on upside down into the stuffed animal. The application can be personalized for multiple children, this is a nice touch. Each toy includes over 1000 activities, free credits to unlock lessons, and customizable content for your child. The recommended ages from 4 to 10 although we have observed more interest on the younger end of that spectrum. The toy is dead simple to use, this is a huge plus for a child, it takes almost no time to learn. The toy is like a tutor and friend and includes educational learning packs like language, math, science, music, history lessons for K through five and developed by teachers. We did experience a couple application hangups but these should be quickly resolved with updates be...
