Image
Tribe of Noise Head Noise Maker Updates us on their Latest Venture -  Bizmusiq Hessel Van Oorschot - Chief Noise Maker at Tribe of Noise Startup Business models evolve. Some out of necessity. Some out of pure timing and chance meeting.  In an  interview  early this year with Hessel Van Oorschot , we learned that there is another higher decibel noise coming from the Tribe of Noise  which Hessel talked about a new streaming service for restaurants. Turns out this announcement was just the infrastructure tech for an even bigger deal.   Hessel talks about a new joint venture with a record label in the Netherlands. Here in the states(as every one outside of US likes to call it), you may or may not have heard about them - Strengholt Music Group .  Strengholt owns new dutch music licenses as well as classic licenses. As Hessel discusses in the interview, the old labels need to get into the digital era and why not stream modern to classic music, se...

Indie Music Tribe Head Makes Some New Noise

Image
Tribe of Noise Head Noise Maker Updates us on his Indie Music Tribe Business model evolution is constant and a must. After our initial interview with Hessel Van Oorshot last year, we learned that there is some new noise coming from the Tribe of Noise . If you still don't know the Tribe of Noise, it is a web service allowing indie musicians and media makers to collaborate. Hessel talks about new Tribe of Noise Pro features coming in the next few months which will allow media creatives to find the right music for their project with a new way to search. Partnered with IBM Watson, filters are out the door for for media music search using feelings like Energy Level and Emotions - makes sense to us. Hessel also talks about the new streaming music for restaurants  where services like Spotify, Pandora, Deezer don't offer multiple country commercial licenses so you can't just stream them at your business place (wink-wink). Finally, Hessel talks about their relationship with S...

Indie Game Developer Chris de Castro Shares Lessons Learned In another episode of Kickstarter Unboxed, we talk with indie game developer Chris de Castro who shares five big learnings of crowdfunding wisdom about his successful Kickstarter campaign with his indie game "The Wizards of Trinity Bellwoods". Check out below what Chris can share with other indie game developers on crowdfunding.

Indie Game Models the Hipster Ecosystem

Image
Kickstarter campaign hopes to launch "The Wizards of Trinity Bellwoods" At the last Casual Connect 2015, we were actively stalking Indie game developers. One game developer that caught our nerdy eye was the " The Wizards of Trinity Bellwoods ".  The game takes place in Trinity Bellwoods Park and models a real life ecosystem of hipsters drinking in the park, leaving glass bottles, plastic bottles and aluminum cans and the "recycle" people (You) go and collect them for money to make their lives better. Sound too familiar? It happens everywhere. Chris de Castro, the indie game developer of this game, said it reminds him of his personal story of how his grandparents took care of his family. We talk with Chris de Castro about his game that is live on Kickstarter now. Check it out!

Why Indie Musicians Should Join This Tribe

Image
Tribe of Noise Gives Indie Musicians Revenue and Gaming and Video Creatives Licensing Options The music industry is complicated. Music Licensing is complicated. Getting quality music   within budget and within timeframe  into your indie game, video or movie is nearly impossible  (unless you know i.e. the Doobie Brothers). That is why there are tech events like SF Music Tech . Recently, we interviewed Hessel van Oorschot , Head Noisemaker and business conductor at Tribe of Noise . Tribe of Noise is a service that connects creatives who need music with independent musicians who create beautiful music. Tribe of Noise has been around since 2008 (that's 49 Years in startup dog years) - that's a long time. Untangling the music industry spaghetti is what they are trying to do with strategic partnerships with Getty Images , SONOS and Pond5 . Hessel explains why the Tribe of Noise fills the void and gives the money and choice back to the indie musician and the reason...
