The Suitsy: A Business-Suit Onesie #thisjusthappened

Betabrand designer Jesse Herzog unveils the greatest workplace creation since the water cooler. Farewell 3-piece suit, the Internet's invented a business onesie. Last Thursday, Jesse Herzog unveiled the Suitsy on Betabrand.com , the online clothing company that lets the Web decide the future of fashion. Ever since, the site's raged with debate -- Is the Suitsy the end of Western Civilization or it's savior?! According to Herzog, "Imagine looking professional, but feeling like you're in pajamas." The Suitsy is a jacket connected to a shirt connected to pants. A zipper is hidden behind the shirt-button placard (with false buttons) and pants zipper. Fake shirt-cuff material extends from the end of the jacket sleeves to give the impression of a complete dress shirts worn underneath. It's as if a jumpsuit and business suit had a love child. In September I was invited to be on the guest list of a very cool event called Thread . I went to the website and saw all these 20 something girls shopping off racks in the photos, I then thought to myself that this was gonna be as cool as going to forever 21 and watching girls shop. But I was forced to go and i'm really glad I did cause those photos did not do this event justice. There were lots of bad ass independent designers from all over the place. I ended up buying an organic cotton hat from The Organik a couple of super enthusiastic dudes were working the booth. The Organik is from Hawaii and they are very passionate about the eco, green, sustainable lifestyle. Next up on my highlight list were the san francisco brothers of Artefacture, they were very design heavy, seemed like the type of guys who really really get into font type faces.
