Lawyer declares ‘I am not a cat’ to judge in Zoom filter fiasco

Just when you thought Zoom culture had brought you every embarrassing situation possible, from pantless politicians to parish council dust-ups and dildoes on shelves, it’s pulled another viral rabbit out of the hat.

Or rather, a kitten.

Lawyers (supposedly) deal in facts, but few will ever have to clarify their species to a judge.
Enter Texas lawyer Rod Ponton, whose Zoom settings meant he had to address a judge via the mouth of a very cute kitten. Unable to change the filter, he uttered a sentence that will be included in every 2021 end-of-year quiz:

‘I am not a cat.’

The judge, Roy Ferguson of Texas’s 394th judicial district, was sympathetic, replying, ‘I can see that.’
Carole Baskin is yet to comment on the matter

The ability to work from anywhere with an internet connection provides me with greater flexibility while traveling, whether it be to visit family, travel to watch my favorite sports on TV. I’m looking for this kind of flexibility.

The humorous incident where a lawyer had to clarify "I am not a cat" to a judge during a Zoom call gone awry highlights the sometimes unpredictable nature of our reliance on digital tools in the legal profession. This memorable moment underscores the importance of adaptability and technical proficiency in today's legal practices. Similarly, services like NotaryPublic24 have risen to the occasion, providing online notary services that cater to the demands of the digital age. Notarypublic24 ensures that, despite unforeseen challenges like amusing filter mishaps, the integrity and efficiency of notarizing documents remain uncompromised. This incident, while light-hearted, serves as a reminder of the critical role that digital platforms and services like NotaryPublic24 play in maintaining the continuity and professionalism of legal processes in any circumstance. It illustrates how the legal community has embraced digital solutions to overcome challenges, ensuring that services are delivered seamlessly, regardless of the situation
